PAINT STRIPPING 1. Apply a full coverage coat of paint stripper by brushing onto the masonry surface. 2. The stripper will be allowed to sit on the surface being stripped, for a period of five to ten minutes (or as per manufacturer guidelines). 3. Remove, by means of high-pressure water, all traces of chemical agent from the surface. 4. Burlap bags will be installed at the base of the masonry wall to gather any paint run-off. Dependent on site conditions, other appropriate measures will be taken to reclaim this run-off for proper disposal. 5. All care shall be taken to protect windows, doors, metal finishes and glass, using clear plastic sheathing where necessary or some other form of adequate template to protect these surfaces where plastic would be inadequate. Note: The Scope of Work will specify the number of stripper applications to be applied and whether additional applications will be charged for and at what cost. Containment and disposal costs shall be charged for separately, unless these costs can be determined from the outset and are covered under the Scope of Work. |
