STONE PATCHING


1. Loose or unsound stone will be removed with a hammer and chisel. Open all cracks larger than a hairline or surface crazing not less than 3/8" width and equal depth.

2. Dust, grease, or foreign residues will be removed from the repair area to leave a clean, sound surface.

3. Exposed or partially embedded ferrous metals will be treated to retard corrosion.

4. Patching compound will be mixed at repair location in small quantities and will not be re-tempered.

5. All patched areas will be finished flush to adjoining surfaces, matching lines, contours, surface texture and colouration as closely as possible.
