WATERPROOFING (ALL-GUARD ELASTOMERIC COATING) 1. Have a test patch done on a section of the building where it will be unnoticed. A Dow Corning representative shall apply the material and do the necessary adhesion tests and report in full on its findings. 2. Power wash substrate to be coated and remove all debris and loose flaking concrete to prepare surface for application of primer/sealer. 3. Where noticeable spalls have developed, report on areas and repair as per Owner's or his Representative's direction. 4. Where noticeable cracks or fissures are noted in excess of 1/16 of an inch, apply Dow Corning 790 Sealant to bridge the void(s). 5. Apply All Guard surface primer at the rate of 300 square feet per gallon and allow a minimum of 30 minutes to two hours to dry (dependent on temperature and humidity factors). 6. Apply All Guard Waterproof Coating (after hand-stirring gently) by the best method available to achieve a 10 mil dried film thickness (spray or roller application will be determined based on site conditions). Two coats to be applied, per Dow Corning specifications. 7. Based on footage of area, verify millage or 10 mil coating by checking quantity of material used against Manufacturer's instructions for that square footage. N.B. Dow-Corning specifications call for the application of two coats of All Guard Elastomeric to achieve a 10 Mil thickness. As substrates vary, the request for additional coatings shall be charged at a pro-rata rate price once the 10 Mil application has been achieved. |
