STANDARD JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Storage and Protection 1. Protect this work and the work of other trades from damage at all times. Any work damaged during the installation or application of this work shall be made good to the satisfaction of the owner, without charge. 2. Carry out work in the building in such a manner so as to not disturb the existing tenants as little as possible. Where possible, provide adequate barriers to minimize the spread of dust and debris into areas where work is not scheduled. 3. Manufactured materials shall be delivered in the original packages, containers and bundles, and shall bear brand and manufacturers' names. 4. Materials shall be stored off-ground, away from sweating walls and other damp surfaces until ready for use. Damaged or deteriorated material will be removed from the site. 5. We will provide and install required coverings to protect materials, work and finishes from damage and/or contamination. All necessary precautions will be taken. 6. Where new work connects with existing, all necessary cutting and fitting required to make a satisfactory connection will be performed under this contract, and the entire work will be left in a finished and workmanlike condition. Scaffolding 1. We will furnish all scaffolding, hoisting equipment, etc., required for the completion of this work. The scaffolding shall be erected so as not to interfere with the work of other trades and shall be removed promptly as various parts of the work are concluded. Permits 1. The contractor will be responsible for obtaining all street occupation and hoarding permits required by the authorities having jurisdiction. 2. All work shall be carried out in accordance with all applicable by-laws and amendments. The work shall meet with the requirements of all jurisdictional authorities and save harmless to owner in all respects. 3. No allowance has been made for difficulties encountered, or expenses incurred, as a result of unknown conditions. Minimum of Standards 1. Unless otherwise specified, the work and the material shall conform to, or exceed, the minimum standards set out in the edition of the Canadian Government Specifications Board or the local Building Code in force, whichever is applicable. 2. The intent of the Quotation/Contract Documents is to include the labour, products and services necessary for the performance of the Work in accordance with these documents. It is not intended, however, that the Contractor shall supplyproducts or perform work not consistent with, covered by or properly inferable from the Quotation/Contract Documents. 3. The Contractor shall review the Project Site and shall promptly report to the Owner or his representative any error, inconsistency or omission he may discover. Such review by the Contractor shall be to the best of his knowledge, information and belief and in making such review the Contractor does not assume any responsibility to the Owner or his Representative for the accuracy of the review. The Contractor shall not be liable for damage or costs resulting from such errors, inconsistencies or omissions in the Quotation/Contract Documents which he did not discover. If the Contractor does discover any error, inconsistency or omission in the Quotation/Contract Documents he shall not proceed with the work affected until he has received approval and/or compensation for additional work from the Owner or his representative. Clean Up 1. Upon completion of an area, all of the mortar, dirt, caulking or dust will be completely removed from the building, which will be left in a neat and clean condition. |
