ROOF REPLACEMENT 1. Remove existing roofing and all flashings and nails. 2. Inspect substrate and make good on all areas of the roof to be re-surfaced. 3. A continuous or lapped, cemented underlay of building paper will be applied following restoration or replacement of roof sheeting, eaves and flashing backing materials. 4. Roofing slate or cedar shingles shall be installed over an underlay. 5. At all valley and ridge locations, flashings shall be provided, as necessary. Where noted under Scope, install ice and water shield at roof edging and valleys. 6. Isolate all metal work from masonry and roofing felt with a continuous layer of building paper or better. Place sheets of underlay over the felt or masonry as the work proceeds. 7. Secure cleats with two fasteners each and cover with cleat tabs. 8. Form seams in direction of water flow and make water-tight. 9. Apply roofing material in conformance with Manufacturer guidelines. |
